How to convert EML to PDF on Mac

You exported an email as .eml from Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Gmail or Exchange Online — and now you need a clean PDF you can archive, sign or share. Here's how to do it entirely on your Mac, without uploading anything.

What is an .eml file?

.eml is the standard MIME email container (RFC 5322). Almost every non-Outlook email client — Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Gmail's "download original", Exchange Online — exports messages in this format. Unlike Outlook's proprietary .msg, it's a plain-text file with MIME parts for the body, HTML version and attachments.
